About this dataset

Number of residential property sales in England and Wales. Quarterly rolling annual data. Data is available for Lower layer Super Output Areas (LSOAs), Middle layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs), lower and upper tier local authorities, combined authorities, regions and countries. These data are part of the House Price Statistics for Small Areas (HPSSAs) release, produced by ONS.

The statistics in this dataset report the count of all dwellings sold and registered in a given period of four consecutive quarters. They are calculated using open data from the HM Land Registry, a source of comprehensive record level administrative data on property transactions.
